What to get three year old for birthday?

Dd will be three in April. When I asked her today 'what would you like for your birthday?', she said nothing because it have everything I need and I had presents at Christmas' 🥺. I think I need things for her to 'do' as opposed to play-sets. She has a lot of play-sets that she uses but can't understand things like snap yet (tried with peppa pig cards) so I'm not sure what to get her? I thought maybe a toy till with some food to 'sell' and a superhero costume (she keeps asking for one) but I don't know what else would be gold at this age? TIA.

DS is about to turn 3 and I've had no shortage of ideas for him!

For Christmas he got a balance bike which he absolutely loves so I suggest that if your DD doesn't already have one.

With an April birthday you could get a garden toy like a slide, climbing frame, playhouse or mud kitchen.

If she doesn't already a play kitchen or easel you could get one of those.

My DS loves puzzles atm and some age appropriate games, look at Orchard Toys.

Does she have things like a doctors set, duplo, trains etc?

YY to mini trampoline and dolls house

A train set and a balance bike are the big hits in my house. My toddler spends hours talking/playing/pushing around the trains!

IggyAce · 01/03/2020 22:42

For my nieces 3rd birthday I got her a shopping trolley and till.
She also got several costumes and a moana and Elsa dolls.

DD is turning 3 this month and I'm getting her the Leapfrog ice cream cart (she has a younger sibling so I'm figuring they'll both get the use of it.) She's also getting play doh. I also considered a digital camera (one of the kids' ones) and a sand and water table for the garden.

Jigsaws & dressing up clothes/accessories are favourites at that age Smile

VenusClapTrap · 02/03/2020 14:16

Balance bike, Duplo (or was in Megablox?) and the Brio train set were dd’s favourite things at that age.

DS likes megabloks and duplo. I think he will outgrow the megabloks faster though.

DelurkingAJ · 02/03/2020 17:32

Brio train set
Kitchen and food for it (not card if you can avoid it...wood or plastic)
Whisper it softly but DS2 (nearly 4) plays every single day with his Paw Patrol cars which we caved and bought him for Xmas.
Dolls house
I’d avoid Duplo as she isn’t far off the age for Lego Junior sets (a small one of those to see how she goes if her fine motor coordination is ok?)

If you want something other than gifts, look at your local theatres & attractions.
When DD was 3 we took her to see Sarah & Duck on tour & she loved it. It's touring again this year. There are lots of shows based on popular books (Zog, Tiddler etc).
Or buy a season ticket to a favourite local attraction.
