Your “how did I not realise that” moments.

I am getting too involved in the corona virus threads so wanted to start something lighthearted!

Went to visit DSis recently. She bought a wine box. I have bought the odd one in the past and once the little tap stopped producing wine just threw it out. I did not realise that there is nearly a whole bottle of wine left in the bag at that point! I felt really stupid but now view it as “free” wine given I would have thrown it away!

What silly things didn’t you realise until someone pointed it out to you?

Knorr cubes are wrapped differently.

This thread has reassured me regarding my geographical knowledge. I'm going to tell DH to stop taking the mickey now!

I've been doing the beef/veg oxo cube wrapped crush thing for actual decades, but it's only recently that it's started working for chicken oxo - previously too gooey. Presumably they're less fatty now.

Still occasionally get one that's too solid, I presume from a slightly different mix in the vat when it was created or possibly a hole in the foil letting moisture in.

Anyway, the 95% of the time it works saves on one of the dozens of hand wrinses I do every day while cooking!
