Paying holiday balance/booking flights

We are due to go to Spain in May.

Balance of holiday due today and we haven't booked flights yet.

What would you do re corona virus? I don't want to book and loose the money if we can't go.

I'm assuming travel insurance will only cover you if FCO advises against travel but it's hard as we just don't know what situation will be?

What would you do?

If the advice hasn't been given not to fly, why wouldn't you go?

I'd carry on with the booking and get insurance. Unless someone in your party has health issues.

23 people in the UK have tested positive. It's here, so you are already at risk.
