What to wear for internal job interview?

I am a trainee teacher.
I have a job interview next week at my placement school.
I will go smarter than the average day but how much smarter is the question?
I normally wear trousers and shirt to work.

No need to overthink this.

Wear your favourite work clothes.

And smart but comfortable shoes.

Make sure your hair is just-so.

That's it Wink

I would go in normal interview attire. I got a dress from Next in their work or suit range, I forget which. It's plain navy, knee length, elbow length sleeves. Simple but smart. I don't work in schools but I work in a very informal office (dungarees are totally acceptable!) But I still go proper professional looking for internal interviews. It shows you're serious

Showing up properly dressed shows you did effort and are taking this interview seriously.

As a teacher, I would go for ‘formal but approachable’. Wear a suit but perhaps a shirt in a soft colour like pink under it to soften the look.
Go easy on the make up.

Good luck!

Normal interview clothes. Wear your trousers and shirt you would normally wear, wear a jacket as well.

Also, remember that they will google you so make sure your social media is locked down.

I think that if you dress perhaps a little bit smarter than usual it shows your interviewer that you are taking the interview seriously and showing respect to them and the role. Never under estimate the good impression you have the chance to make, just because they already know you doesn't mean to say they won't feel as if you are making an effort to secure a post. Good luck !
