Simply cool subscription cancelled but they are still charging me?

Has anyone experienced this?

I signed up for the cheap 1 off deal. I cancelled the subscription and they sent me another one. I let it go, because I know sometimes unless you cancel a subscription at 23seconds past 2 when the moon is in retrograde then it won't cancel until the following one 🙄

But nonetheless I log in the check it's been cancelled and it says "you have no active subscriptions".

Yet another one has just come through the door.

I check my account and there fuckers have taken another £9.99

I check my Simplycook account to triple check it's called and it says I have no active subscriptions.

They have no number to call of course.

Anyone else had this? Or got advice? Would simply cancelling it from my bank end it all?

They sound like they use the same tactics as Geekbox.

TheNoiseHurts · 29/02/2020 10:46

What tactics?

I've just checked my bank and there's no direct debits or standing order to cancel.

And worse still - they are charging me 9.99 every 2 weeks!!!!!!!

I cancelled the subscription online. Still sent a box. Asked them why. They said i hadn't cancelled in time. Then they sent me another box. I checked I had cancelled. I asked why they had sent it - and charged me for a box, despite me having deleted all payment cards from my account almost 3 months prior. They said they'd credit me when I sent the box back. Then they charged me for another box. It was bloody ridiculous. I sent 1 box back (my cost) and refused delivery of another. I think I only ever had two boxes - only wanted one, as the quality was poor - and paid for 4, plus 1 series of return costs.

Is it a recurring payment linked to your bank card? Did you give your card number to them?

OchAyeThaNoo · 29/02/2020 10:59

Speak to your bank and do a card chargeback if you can and tell the bank that they need to refuse any more debit card payments to that company.

TheNoiseHurts · 29/02/2020 11:00

Yes for £2 to buy one box. I wanted to do this, I've had plenty of subscriptions over the years and I've never experienced this. I had no reason to think it was anything other than a normal subscription.

Fucking bastards. I'm so broke I can barely buy food and these shits take £20 a month from my bank?!

That's several family means and not the ones that fuckers are trying to make us eat

Have you emailed them?

TheNoiseHurts · 29/02/2020 11:04

First thing I did. And the second thing I did.
I've also tweeted them.

I'd speak to your bank then as explained in the moneysavingexpert link. Thieving bastards

TheNoiseHurts · 29/02/2020 11:18

Yeah just waiting to do that now.

I'm angry!

I'm also annoyed that it's spoilt my love for the occasional subscription. I was clearly lulled into a false sense of security with previous companies. How do I know who to trust?!

Well that took 30 seconds.

Halifax blocked the account.
Job done.

Hopefully this thread will help others!
