Dd and i sat watching 'the diary of anne Frank' as dd is studying ww2 at school. Dh came home. I told him what we were watching. He didn't really have much of a clue about the story. He asked things like, 'don't they go out?' 'why are they there?' 'what building is that?' i asked if he'd heard of her and replied yes but he didn't know what happened. He said he never studied it and nobody has ever spoken about it. Aibu to be a bit stunned by this?

Wow, even my 8 year old knows about it!
How old is your DH??

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 28/02/2020 20:15

Blimey. I don't think it matters how old he is. My (very dead) grandparents knew about her, my (Italian) daughter knows about her.
Did he not go to school?

Im sure there was a similar thread on this topic not too long ago. I find it mind boggling that anyone could get to adulthood and not know about her and what happened to her. Do these people live under rocks?
