Is there a shortage of ibuprofen?

For the past few months I have found it hard to find generic ibuprofen. My usual shops (Lidl, poundstretcher, wilko etc) always seem out of stock.

Is it just me or is there a shortage?

I know I should look in boots but haven't been recently, not so handy for me to get to. Local chemist has it but expensive.

I wanted to buy some this week. Only tried Lidl's, none there.

There wasn't any in my Aldi last week but it was in Tesco and Boots.

I've noticed there is a shortage of the cheap ones for ages but mainly in Sainsburys and Tesco. So far I've always found them in Aldi, I would hazard a guess its Brexit related.

No shortage where I am - and I'm buying them regularly.

Struggled to find any of the cheapo stuff a couple of weeks ago - none in Lidl, Aldi, Tesco etc. Seems to be back again now round here.

Luckily Tesco has a pharmacy which had some non branded Ibuprofen, it was a huge box so probably worked out the smaller 30p boxes.

No issue here. I get it regularly in my Ocado shop too

I was just saying that the other day! Been trying to get some for a few weeks now and can't get any anywhere. It's not urgent but strange as I haven't been able to in ages.

I bought two packs in Lidl tonight (prepping!) although I do find their stocks can be sporadic, I thought that was a Lidl thing.

I’ve noticed this too. My local Sainsbury’s hasn’t had any of it’s generic ibuprofen in for a few weeks, although I did manage to find some earlier this week (only a few packets left).

No shortage in our local Boots or Tesco’s.

I only buy generic and asked the checkout operator in Aldi and they said they couldn’t get hold of it.

No shortage near me. Nothing to do with Brexit- it hasn't happened yet people!

There was but I thought it had been resolved. I have it on prescription and had several owing slips but have been able to get them no problem for the last month or so

I've managed to get cheap ibuprofen in Asda, Morrisons, Home Bargains and Savers.

I think so we have had several months of low supplies to no supplies sains and tesckies.

Yes, there was none at our Tesco this past weekend and I’ve had trouble finding lots recently.

Got some today in Savers, but does seem to be running out in most shops.

Sainsbury’s has none available and has a little note on the shelf to say they are having ‘supply problems’. On a side note there seems to be ‘supply problems’ with ranitidine too.

Yes, it's been going on for months. Very sporadic supplies in the places I normally buy from (Sainsburys, Lidl, Tesco).

Yes there is. My pharmacist apologised when I had to buy a branded one, and she said it was because there is a general shortage, not just them.

Yeah I’ve struggled for months

I was doing my online tesco shop earlier and it was all out of stock, although I know I saw some in my local sainsbury's earlier today.

None at my Tesco on Tuesday. Plenty of paracetamol though. Strange.

In my area it disappeared for a while but is back now, I remember posting on a thread asking the same thing a few months ago and there were a few other products that were mentioned as being very hard to get.
