Did anyone else just get this text:

If you've travelled to the UK from mainland China, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia or Macau in the last 14 days and have a cough, fever or shortness of breath - or have been in close contact with someone with confirmed coronavirus - please stay indoors and call NHS 111. Even if symptoms are mild - do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital and avoid close contact with other people. For latest advice, visit the Department of Health website or bit.ly/2SPgFsV

It is the standard advice

MadisonAvenue · 26/02/2020 17:47

No, but my husband had similar from his GP surgery over a week ago.

Howmanysleepsnow · 26/02/2020 17:47

I didn’t. Have you travelled recently?

No, but it is the current guidance and has been for probably two weeks. I work in a clinic and we’ve had posters hung up that say that for I think at least 2 weeks.

I don’t know why you specifically got it. Have you travelled recently and logged your details with the dept of health coming back into the UK?

Bloodybridget · 26/02/2020 17:50

No, haven't had anything.

TimeMarchesOnNeverEnding · 26/02/2020 17:52

Some GP surgeries are sending the message out. Some are not.

maddiemookins16mum · 26/02/2020 17:54

We got it at work, think it may have been sent to businesses today.

DragonflyInn · 26/02/2020 19:33

Yeah, my GP surgery sent it out today.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 26/02/2020 20:20

No, but I had one from my GP surgery a couple of weeks ago.

TheQueef · 26/02/2020 20:22

Front page of our gp website has had a banner for at least a week.

soundsystem · 26/02/2020 20:25

I got it yesterday, addressed to my middle child (all 3 have my phone number as a contact as too young for phones of their own). Thought it was a bit odd that it was Dear DC2 and was expecting a few more to come through for the rest of us but as yet it's just him! He hasn't been to any of those places, as he's 3.

Norugratsatall · 26/02/2020 20:28

Nope no text but my NDN has just come back from Thailand and I've been in close contact with her. Sure everything'll be fine though.

MoiraRose · 26/02/2020 21:33

We have had this message when logging on to make an appointment at doctors for about a fortnight, but no separate text. Although that hasn't been updated recently to include anywhere in Italy

I did. Thought it was probably from my GP but as I didn't recognise the number (usually reminders etc are from a single number) I deleted it.

Elouera · 26/02/2020 22:09

yes, I got it from my surgery as a text today. OH got nothing from his surgery though.

FruityWidow · 26/02/2020 22:50

I got a similar message at end of Jan about travelling from China only and then another last week saying check the gov website for the most up to date information. These were texts fromy gp.

Never click on these links, they can be phishing attacks. Google the latest dept of health advice instead.

grannyshark · 13/03/2020 22:38

I had it the other day but I blocked the number assuming it may well be a scam.
