Hand hold, someone has vandalised my car

Me and another lady from work Park in the same street. It's perfectly legal and allowed.

Today I came back to my car to find the window wipers front and back have been pulled and fucked. I can't move them back and they're stuck sticking out.

The man standing next to my car shouted "This your car?! ''. He said I'm sick and tired of people parking on my street! Next time that'll be your face"

I said why do this, he said he didn't but he'd have done worse. He stood that and tried to prevent me getting into my car, asking where I was going. I got in and just drove.

I'm bloody so upset Sad sounds silly but I feel so so embarrassed. How do I ever hold my head up high again?

report it to the police with a good description of the man that has threatened you

adaline · 26/02/2020 17:38

Police - it's vandalism.

whatareyoucooking · 26/02/2020 17:43

Police - now!

mencken · 26/02/2020 17:46

it is also threatening behaviour. Call the cops and repeat what you've said here. You are a victim of at least two crimes.

The world is full of little people (of both genders) who don't get that roads are public.

UYScuti · 26/02/2020 18:04

if you see him again pull your phone out and start recording, he is well out of order!

UYScuti · 26/02/2020 18:05

what a piece of shit intimidating and harassing you like that!

KnifeAngel · 26/02/2020 22:55

He has no right to do that. However it must be infuriating living somewhere that you can't park because of people like you leaving their cars there all day.

wowfudge · 26/02/2020 23:00

It's the public highway and however annoying it is, if you want the right to park on your own street and other people parking there is an issue then getting a residents' parking scheme put in place is the way to go.

Please report what has happened to you and your car OP.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 26/02/2020 23:01

Awful, if your parking somewhere that’s it’s allowed (ie not permit only) the residents can lump it 🤷🏻‍♀️ They moved in knowing the parking situation.

Don’t feel upset, you’ve parked somewhere your allowed to park. Go home and have a glass of wine, tomorrow is a new day

Hmm

If it bothers this man so much to live on a street that anyone can park on, to the point that he threatens those that do and damages their vehicles, it's probably time for him to move somewhere else. He's the only problem in this scenario.

BackyardChickens · 26/02/2020 23:03

Awful.

You do need to call the police and give a description of the events and what he looks like. I’m sure obstruction can’t be legal?

midwestspring · 27/02/2020 02:49

I would invest in a dash cam that you can set to record when you aren't in the car, I would then make a sign for the dashboard highlighting that the the car has a recording camera.
As a safety precaution I would have my phone on record for the next couple of days when parking and arriving at the car.
I would also contact the police but I'm not sure if they will be able to do much with the information you have you can still get it logged.
What a horrible man, you are doing something perfectly legal.

midwestspring · 27/02/2020 02:51

Phone on video record.

whatareyoucooking · 27/02/2020 10:44

knifeangel

Fixed it for you

Glitterb · 27/02/2020 10:50

Get a dashcam that films whilst you are parked!

Completely unacceptable when it is a road that permits parking, if he has a problem then maybe he should move!

SorryImNotCreative · 27/02/2020 12:19

“ I said why do this, he said he didn't”

My arse. He definitely did it.

Report him, you’ll have a good description and you know roughly where he lives!
