Fucking in date chicken from Tesco smells rancid.

That's a good enough excuse for chippy tea on a non weekend day isn't it?

I had this last week with tesco chicken thighs. In date, and not only smelling off, but had tiny specks of bacterial growth on it- just like the spores growing on a petri dish [insert almost vomited green faced emoji]

Elouera · 26/02/2020 16:50

I took it back for a full refund BTW.

If you've just opened it, leave it for a few minutes and check again - chicken can smell awful when it's been stuck in plastic for a while, but it soon wears off. Obviously that won't be the case if it is off...

BabyWenger · 26/02/2020 17:20

Yeah it's not just the weird smell you get when you first open it. It's proper vinegary type smell.

Chippy tea has been deployed.

Chippy tea is law when things like this happen.

SerendipityJane · 26/02/2020 17:31

Perhaps we do need chlorinated chicken after all. Isn't this the second off in-date chicken thread in a week ?

ThisIsBlossoms · 26/02/2020 17:33

I have had this a couple of times from Tesco but never anywhere else. Definitely not an excuse for chlorinated chicken. Definitely an excuse for chippy tea.

ActualHornist · 26/02/2020 17:56

I’d rather risk some off chicken on the odd occasion than chlorinated chicken. How can you tell if it’s off if it’s been washed in bleach?!
