dc1 has various health problems but she's now having problems wth her joints.

Started in te ankles, particularly one, which we put down to them badly spraining it in the past, over last couple of months knees have started getting clicky and painful as have their wrists and in the last week hips.

No obvious swelling redness or heat but is affecting ability to walk long distances and hold pens for long periods.

We have an appointment next week but I am starting to get concerned, anybody any ideas, rgeumatoid arthritis has crossed my mind as there is a family history of auto immune disorders but as I said there is no swelling.

I had really painful clicky joints sometimes at about that age. I did have an x-day at one point when my hip had me crying in pain, nothing was found.

I think it was ‘growing pains’ - everything has been fine since I was about 20 (I’m 37 now) although I am prone to clicks still!

Hypermobility syndrome? Look it up and see if she scores high on the Beighton test. If it is that, there isn't a cure, but regular strengthening exercises can help. I also find hormones play a massive part in how I feel and going on a low dose combined contraceptive pill can help (not a high progesterone pill).
