Would you keep your child at home for this?

Dd 7 has been awake most the night with stomach pain. She's still asleep now and really should be getting dressed at this time.

6:30 she called me to say she was still in pain.

Should I send her in.

I'm thinking no but not sure if stomach ache alone is a valid reason to be off school.

I'd keep her home. She'll be exhausted.

WhenYouveAFirstInEnglish · 25/02/2020 07:48

I would keep home

mallachy · 25/02/2020 07:49

I would keep her at home. You can always be honest with the school and if she wakes up at 10am and is fine you can take her in.

Tummy ache is a valid reason yes

Fairylea · 25/02/2020 07:52

Severe lack of sleep and stomach pain? I’d definitely keep her home.

Sirzy · 25/02/2020 07:53

Of course not! Let her have a day of rest

I’d keep her home; it sounds like a valid tummy ache and not just one of those “tummy aches” that chicken suddenly get when they don’t want to go to school and I would imagine she’s exhausted

Clangus00 · 25/02/2020 07:59

No I wouldn’t send them in.

ManyShades · 25/02/2020 08:01

I wouldn't want my ds going into school if he was in pain and had not slept well because of it.

Lordfrontpaw · 25/02/2020 08:03

I’d keep her home - I get dreadful stomach pain when I get any bug. Are you home OP?

dssonne · 25/02/2020 08:23

Thank you for replying.

She's awake now and saying she wants to go to school. No pains,No temperature, not pale.

Think I will send her in as she wants to go and seems ok.

As bless. Light breakfast and I’m sure if she feels bad at school they will call you. Maybe she ate something that disagreed.

Kids really do bounce don’t they?

Don’t forget the pancakes!

Soubriquet · 25/02/2020 08:26

If she wants to go, let her go but maybe have a word with the teacher and say if it starts to happen again, ring you and let her come home

Isadora2007 · 25/02/2020 08:28

I wouldn’t. But I’d be worried it was the start of a stomach bug which I wouldn’t want to pass on. I’m an emetephobe though so am paranoid.
