That's not carb heavy!

Everything I look at online is either jambalaya or paella
But I don't want rice really

Any ideas?? Thanks Smile

Ah, came here to suggest pasta but that’s not gonna work!

ChicChicChicChiclana · 24/02/2020 19:06

perhaps put your full question in the thread title.

justasking111 · 24/02/2020 19:06

Make cauliflower rice, or cous cous.

ValeEden · 24/02/2020 19:19

Frittata/omelette?

Grembolina · 24/02/2020 19:21

I was going to say jambalaya Grin.

Stirfry might work? Or veg roasted with paprika and garlic and the chorizo then fry the prawns and mic them in. Like peppers, red onion, butternut squash, sweet potato, broccoli.

www.womensweeklyfood.com.au/recipes/barbecue-prawn-and-chorizo-skewers-with-bean-and-tomato-salad-15096

This is lovely (and can easily be grilled, not barbecued).

EssentialHummus · 24/02/2020 19:21

Frittata. Add peppers.

Gogolego · 24/02/2020 19:22

Skewers cut the chorizo into 1cm thick discs alternate the prawn and chorizo on the skewer then bbq although could fry them to heat up. Serve with a peach and onion salsa and crusty bread

The skewers sound delicious.

SoMuchToBits · 24/02/2020 19:26

I would also roast some Mediterranean style veg with the chorizo (red onion, tomato, peppers, courgette, garlic) then fry the prawns separately and mix them in.

That has given me a great idea for a low carb meal actually, so thank you!

FabbyChix · 24/02/2020 19:28

Paella

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 24/02/2020 19:32

I'd fry both in garlicky oil and serve piled onto creamy mash with some wilted greens on the side.

salbodoodlecat · 24/02/2020 19:33

I'd make linguine with that with fresh tomatoes chilli and spinach. You could replace the linguine with courgetti to take out the carbs

FinallyHere · 24/02/2020 19:36

Use chorizo as the basis of a garlic/tomato/onion style sauce. Substitute leeks or shallots or spring onions for onions.

Grill prawns, serve on veg of green veg, buttered, the smoky sauce with prawns on top. Delicious.

MozzchopsThirty · 24/02/2020 19:39

Omg 🙈🙈🙈 too much choice now lol

There's some amazing ideas here thank you so much
Would love to know how to make peach & onion salsa???

I'm torn between making chicken, prawn & chorizo pasta (I'll have wholewheat noodles or courgetti (yuck)
Or the skewers??

Or the body coach stir fry

I love a bit of low carb creamy mash Grin

MozzchopsThirty · 24/02/2020 19:48

Create a soup base using the chorizo as your fat and flavor. Add onions and other veg that you have. When it's cooked garnish with the prawns.

CoatTails · 24/02/2020 20:53

Prawn and chorizo mash up.
Sauté the diced chorizo, an onion and garlic. Add sliced peppers, sliced courgettes and smoked paprika and cook for 10 minutes.
Add prawns and cook for 2 minutes.
Bloody DELICIOUS.

Gogolego · 24/02/2020 21:05

Peach and lime salsa = Finely chopped onion and peach some lime and mint added. Simple as that

ouch321 · 24/02/2020 21:08

I just made a prawn stir fry for dinner inc:

  • prawns
  • noodles
  • chowmein sauce
  • mangetout
  • baby corn
  • onion
  • broccoli

373 cals

Gogolego · 24/02/2020 21:09

Ok ignore last post
And it's nectarines not peaches

Here's the salsa recipe
2 nectarines diced
1/2 small red onion diced
Juice of half a lime
Basil finely chopped

Mix together
