Still Pregnant - 3 days overdue - HELP

Gand93 · 24/02/2020 16:16

So I'm pregnant with my second daughter.

My first pregnancy was pretty straight forward, didn't have any Braxtons, no waters breaking, no losing of the plug just started having pains at 40+2 at 3:30am and by 6:42am after a very short labour she came into the world.

Well I am currently 3-4 days overdue.
I have had a stretch and sweep on friday 21st (due date) midwife said I'm 2cm and very soft cervix.
On the Saturday morning I lost my plug (lovely thing that is!)
Well now on Monday Afternoon and still no contractions no signs of movement.

I have tried:
raspberry leaf tablets and tea.
Phall hot curry
Fresh pineapple
Birthing ball
Walking\exercise
Hot baths
Nipple stimulation
And last but not least the act which started this!

So any advice, previous experiences or anything would help.
I'm fed up and very pregnant.

Thanks in advance

DS was induced at 13 days over. Sometimes, hard as it, you just have to accept it.

mencken · 24/02/2020 16:30

if any of this babble worked there would be no need for medical induction. It doesn't.

hopefully your overstayer will decide to leave soon, or if not that the eviction will go well!

One of the biggest triggers of labour is your baby releasing surfectant into the amniotic fluid when their lungs are fully developed. When I found that out I didn’t mind dd staying out for as long as she needed.

You’ve got 12 days maximum really, it’ll be over soon!

Sorry to say that none of the so called ‘labour inducers’ work, I tried them all. I was pushing DC1 in his buggy up a steep hill again and again when DC2 was overdue, I also ate a whole pineapple and almost made my tongue bleed. She just came when she was ready as all babies do.

ReginaGeorgeous · 24/02/2020 16:50

I tried everything when I had DS, none of it worked I'm afraid he was still 10 days late. Hope you're not waiting too much longer.

Coffeeandcake1 · 24/02/2020 16:54

Not sure if its what did the trick but I went into labour with my first baby the night after a long (slow) walk.

I was 5 days past due date and was trying to avoid being induced, took the dog out in the evening for about an hour just around the roads. Went into labour that night. Might be worth a try! Good luck!

Nothing worked for me. I was induced at 15 days overdue. Even then she didn't move and I had a section 3 days later! Pretty sure she'd still be in there if it was up to her.

TheNoiseHurts · 24/02/2020 17:16

Does anything work?

I know it's hard to hear but you're only 3-4 days over due. That's not very overdue yet.

I'm sure the baby will come soon, but be prepared to wait a week and if it happens sooner then bonus!

I was lucky with DS1 (though didn't feel it at the time) because I was 2 weeks over due with him so DS2, I put my feet up with DS2 and was happy to go over and he came at 10 days overdue.
With DS3, I was fully prepared to go for the long hall. I was absolutely not ready for him when he arrived 3 weeks early! 😳

HoldMyLobster · 24/02/2020 17:26

You're only 3 days overdue?

virginpinkmartini · 24/02/2020 17:39

@TeddyIsaHe If that's true, that's quite the motivating thought.
I'm 36 weeks and I can't be arsed with this anymore, it's like waking up to Christmas Eve every day lol, but I've accepted my 'due date' as 42 weeks, as my son was 2 weeks 'overdue' after trying everything to induce, and late babies run in my family without exception.
OP, forget about the whole 40 week due date. Every baby is different, it's a guide, not a goal.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 24/02/2020 18:37

"vampirethriller I thought I* was the most pregnant woman ever, ds was 17 days late!

Sympathies, OP, it's a long wait after a long wait. The end is in sight though.

vampirethriller · 24/02/2020 20:34

@MotherForkinShirtBalls I started to feel like it was all some surreal practical joke and nothing was ever going to happen!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 24/02/2020 21:39

vampirethriller God yes, I remember that feeling. And my sister's babies had all come between 2-4 weeks early so I felt very hard done by Grin

Likethebattle · 25/02/2020 00:20

Raspberry leaf doesn’t induce labour it helps prepare your body but i see people thinking this all the time. Light exercise like walking can help but a baby will come when it’s ready.
