Please tell me someone else hates noisy pillows!

We went away as an extended family a week or do ago and the place we stayed at had noisy pillows. This means I dont sleep very well but when I mentioned why I was tired everyone looked at me like I had 3 heads.

This is not the first time it has been an issue in my life but no-one ever seems to get what I mean.

Surely i am not the only one ?

You're not alone. I get it. Let me know if you find a good one. My old anti snoring pillow has gone floppy...like the rest of my body

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 23/02/2020 22:25

Are you me? Grin

WhoAreThey · 23/02/2020 22:25

I get it, I also hate noisy pillows/bedding.

AbsentmindedWoman · 23/02/2020 22:25

I agree!

Also, voluminous soft pillows where my head disappears in a pillow-crevasse. Ridiculous but I feel like I'm going to smother and they don't support my head and my neck aches.

I'm really fussy about pillows Grin

Spacerader · 23/02/2020 22:26

I can't say I have ever e,experienced a noisy pillow

Newyearnewarse · 23/02/2020 22:27

Yay!
I honestly think my friends and family are weird for not finding this tricky.

I have two pillows and the quiet one has ro be on the top because the other one is too bloody noisy.

Thank you for making me feel normal ( ish) Grin

Oh god yes - I had a rare bad night's sleep last night for some reason. Anyway, we have relatively new pillows, and in the middle of the night last night I discovered that they make a horrible rustly-squeaking noise when you are tossing and turning and can't sleep.. Eeuuurrghhh.

Naughty1205 · 23/02/2020 22:30

I do this exact thing! Noisy pillow underneath normal pillow! Hate a noisy pillow

Newyearnewarse · 23/02/2020 22:30

I am yet to find my perfect pillow. I have to do weird stacking with two pillows and a bent arm to find some peace at night.

Aren't the noisy ones usually those with feathers? I agree they can be annoying although not as much as flat pillows. In Germany everyone seems to have these (flat pillows). What's the point?

Newyearnewarse · 23/02/2020 22:33

I agree that feather pillows are noisy, but they are definitely not the only culprits.

I just dont understand how other people dont notice the noise .

I feel your pain feather pillows are the worst for this. Sounds like your lying on a crisp packet!

I've found me dream pillow combo and both from Ikea. A memory foam one that's shaped to support your head (rosenskärn) plus the skogsolvon one on top (I sat on top but there's a very specific angle it has to be fit the perfect sleeping conditions 😂) Perfect!

Newyearnewarse · 23/02/2020 22:39

Oh yes the angle! Mine are on top but not straight . It has to be a certain way or it doesnt work .

@Newyearnewarse DH bough a crunchy/rusty duvet without my knowledge (I was at work and the poor bugger thought he was doing a nice thing sorting it for me) I sleep with earplugs in and even then the racket it was making kept me awake and made me sleep in the spare room. We had to donate it to dog kennels and buy a nice quiet one!

MrsGrindah · 23/02/2020 22:42

I’m different..I love a noisy crinkly duvet!,

Newyearnewarse · 23/02/2020 22:56

@chesterfuckingdrorrs I feel your pain but am happy to hear your share understands.

@mrsgrindah Why ? How can all that noise help you sleep ?

QOD · 23/02/2020 22:59

I have to use a triangle pillow. Something to cuddle and something under my head
My first one lasted 16 years and literally disintegrated. The next one took two years to perfect and I left it somewhere 😢
The next is falling apart so I’ve bought a new one and ITS JUST NOT RIGHT

I wish I could sleep without one

Rosalo · 23/02/2020 23:01

Omg! DH doesn't believe me when I say the pillows are too noisy. Some are so lie they keep me up all night.

popcornpaws · 23/02/2020 23:19

Tempur pillows are silent, perfect support and really heavy so they dont move around when you do.
When we go on holidays the pillows come too, can never sleep on a rustling light floppy pillow!

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 23/02/2020 23:20

I am TERRIBLE for pillows. I need to have a super flat one on the bottom, lay horizontally. A medium one on top of that, followed by a large (ish), quiet one, lay vertically Confused

I hate myself, I really do.

The watermelon pillows from Aldi are great and are super quiet!

amusedbush · 23/02/2020 23:46

DH ‘treated’ us to new pillows recently - noisy, floppy, unsupportive duck feather ones. The noise as you move on them is outrageous!

I gave it two nights before switching back to my trusty John Lewis extra firm pillow. Full neck support and blissful silence Grin

MakeLemonade · 23/02/2020 23:51

I love a noisy duvet too! Something comforting about the sound.

AndWhatNext · 23/02/2020 23:52

I've never heard of a noisy pillow!

Vellichor · 23/02/2020 23:57

I love a crinkly pillow or duvet too. I love when watching a film and a parent tucks a kid into bed (or something like that) and you can hear the duvet. Good duvet noise in Mary Poppins before she sings them to sleep 😂

Flixsfoilball · 24/02/2020 07:07

Pillows are a nightmare! I hate the trend for massive pillows - I sleep on my front and need one reasonably flat, firm pillow. But giant mounds of awfulness seem to be the only type any hotel or shop seem to do
