Hermes haven’t delivered my package but say they have

As the title says.. I have an email saying that my package was signed for at 7.20pm. It 100% was not as I was sat n my front room with a view out the window meaning I can see the door. There was no knock, no ring, nothing detected on my ring doorbell 😡
What are the chances I’ll get my money back or some resolution? Their online chat is shut. It was a big order, over £100, and I’m really upset 😭

I had a similar issue with a H&M parcel that Hermes said they had delivered. I contacted the retailer and after a lot of going backwards and forwards I got a full refund but the parcel never surfaced so not sure what happened to it. They are by far the worst courier company I have ever dealt with Hmm

goldenorbspider · 23/02/2020 21:11

I had the same thing op! Got a refund from amazon. Not the sellers fault. Never got my stuff 🤣

ParkheadParadise · 23/02/2020 21:12

This happened to me.
My parcel arrived 2 days later.

slipperywhensparticus · 23/02/2020 21:14

I got a notification saying my parcel was delivered it wasnt it did however show up early morning so I assume he ran out of time and started early to finish it off

RedDiamond · 23/02/2020 21:16

Contact the retailer. They will start an investigation for you. It is impossible to contact Hermes themselves.

Stayawayfromitsmouth · 23/02/2020 21:16

Have you checked your back garden, hedges, cat flap, bins, under the car, the neighbour 5 doors down hedges?
Good luck!

ShirleyPhallus · 23/02/2020 21:18

Something weird happens with these sometimes, I think the driver has a certain number of parcels to deliver in a day and if they don’t make the cut-off, they’ll register them as delivered then come around in their own time

You might get it in the next day or 2

Sausagis · 23/02/2020 21:18

Hermes normally send me the "we delivered your parcel" email a few days before they deliver the parcel. I suspect they are getting a bonus for 100% on time deliveries while being lazy bastards.

SallyLovesCheese · 23/02/2020 21:21

I had this with a parcel from Mothercare. Hermes said it was delivered at 11:58pm but it most certainly wasn't (either they never delivered or they just left it outside the door and someone went off with it before I saw the note - either way, Hermes failed to deliver it into my hands like they're supposed to!). No way to contact Mothercare as they closed their website. You'd think they'd wait until all orders had been delivered. I just had to write off the stuff, really annoying.

I hate Hermes.

MinesaPinot · 23/02/2020 22:26

Our local Hermes courier is great and, touch wood, I've never had anything go astray. However I've had several deliveries not turn up when I've made orders and given my work address as the delivery address. It's been murder trying to get refunds. I'm very much leaning towards not ordering online any more and either doing click and collect or going to the shop and purchasing.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 23/02/2020 22:33

100% what -shirley said. They’re such a rubbish employer, I think this is the explanation for a lot of the issues people have with them. That said, contact the retailer, they’re the one who you have the contract with, it’s up to them to ensure your item is delivered.

Obsidian77 · 23/02/2020 22:36

I've had this a few times. Each time, the parcel was delivered early the next day.
I suspect the courier records the delivery as complete to hit some target.

Elouera · 23/02/2020 22:38

I call them Herpes!!! I now refuse to buy from a seller who uses them due to so many issues. The general thing I get is that they tried to deliver, but I wasn't in, they have left a card and will try the following day!!! Utter rubbish! I have a camera at the front door and no one buzzed or came near it, they didn't leave a card and its a complete lie!!!!
Try their number again tomorrow and asked for the 'signature' or who took the parcel to be emailed to you. Wont really help, but could it be a neighbour?

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 23/02/2020 22:54

I had the same issue - although they took a photo of my front door and claimed that they had left it in an outbuilding - I don't have any outbuildings. I sent a google earth image of the front of my house to the store I bought from and had to fill in a denial of receipt, they have redelivered replacement goods using DPD because I refused to agree to a Hermes delivery. The brass neck of them claiming my front door step was the safe place! I will never know whether they didn't deliver or whether the parcel was left and nicked.

SRK16 · 24/02/2020 07:50

Sorry so many of you have had the same experience 😖
I’ve had many deliveries via Hermes before and they have always turned up. I am hoping it’s as you said and it will turn up today (it was due to be a weekday delivery actually). Fingers crossed! Have also emailed the retailer. I just don’t want to be out of pocket!

Exactly the same thing happened to me, the parcel was ‘signed for’ at my address but the house was empty. Hermes were useless and eventually I had to get a refund from the retailer

MrsTHardy · 24/02/2020 07:59

I’ve had this with Hermes for an expensive item. Mine never turned up (retailer thinks it was stolen) and the signature was illegible. I used resolver.co.uk to make a complaint to them, but of course it went nowhere despite their investigation. Retailer ended up sending me another item via another carrier. Good luck - they’re shocking.

TrickyKid · 24/02/2020 08:15

Hermes do this quite a lot. The drivers must do it to make it look like they're hitting targets. Very annoying.

doadeer · 24/02/2020 09:41

You need to go through the retailer. You will get refund or replacement. I had this with an asos at the weekend. No idea where the parcel is.

EssexGurl · 24/02/2020 11:32

I had the same a few years ago. Contacted the retailer who refunded me. They offered to send out another package - via Hermes - but I said no way.

I never found out what happened to it. Hermes said they had left it “in my nominated place” but could not say where that was. I had never given them such instruction so they couldn’t challenge that I hadn’t received it.

SRK16 · 24/02/2020 21:10

Thanks all. Retailer confirmed there is no GPS tracking and no signature so is raising with Hermes. They are refunding me :)
