I have just found a old savings book that belonged to my DH .
My DH died 2.5 years ago.
The books last transaction was in 2002 there is less than £5 in it so the money is not a issue but I want to close the account and wrap thing up , I though I had done all this years ago and I am not looking forward to going through all the paper work again .
I was his executor.

I know B&B was sold to Santander but I cant see anything on there website about closing someone else's account .
Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

Try contacting Santander Bereavement Centre? Santander have a Bereavement guide, with contact details: www.santander.co.uk/assets/s3fs-public/2018-10/Bereavement%20guide.pdf

Santander should be able to locate the account, but it’s possibly been moved to what’s known as Unclaimed Balances - accounts with a balance below a particular threshold and that have been unused for (I think) at least two years. If Santander say they can’t find the account, have them check their (and B&B’s) Unclaimed Balances.
