How long will my daughter wait for braces to be put on if we have payed for them privately?

Hi my daughter needs braces she is 15 she has needed them for a few years as her teeth are really bad to the point where they affect her talking she has speech problems, we went to private orthodontist last year in January they said she needs to have a few baby teeth taken out so in April she did then we went back to our local dentist they referred us to the orthodontist in town we went there they said we would have to wait 2 years the man was surprised at how she didn't get braces earlier and why they made her wait this long he said we would have to pay if we wanted treatment immediately so we are paying £2600 for her braces, but there is a teeth under her gum so that needs to be taken out for the treatment they took x rays and pictures of her teeth the day we went to the orthodontist after we said we will pay . Next appointment is in 3 weeks. Does anyone know how long we will have to wait for her braces to be put on as we chose to pay privately?

Hi my ds is 13.5, he has been wearing braces for nearly a year. He didn't need to have any baby teeth taken out though. We didn't pay privately, so it might be different, his teeth were quite bad, so he got accepted on the nhs at the local hospital. I seem to remember he got his braces on his second appointment. The first appointment was for seeing what needed doing, what type of braces he will require, explaining the treatment plan (my ds has had fixed braces for a year, at his next appointment, following being fitted up last appoint, he is getting removable wire braces). I was told his treatment in total will take about 2 years. It all depends what needs to be done and how far certain teeth have to move so it varies between individuals. We sometimes have to wait quite long in between appointments because they are very busy. If you've paid privately, I'm guessing you may get seen sooner.
