Are toddler quiet/busy books any good?

2.5 year old DS needs an operation at the end of the month and will be off nursery for two weeks at least and in hospital 1-3 nights.

I'm coming up with activities for him for when he's recovering and I've seen things like this:

www.notonthehighstreet.com/jollyfine/product/my_quiet_book?DGMKT=FID__TID_dsa-626678468290&gclid=Cj0KCQiAnL7yBRD3ARIsAJp_oLaMxHoXQNUN4_uekFczy3xV_wM8wnk8fVPk_S9PHHNbg-ZqmrpqyLcaAr9QEALw_wcB

Are they fun for a 2.5 year old? I have jigsaws, colouring, magic painting but thought this could be fun, and something we could use on the airplane this summer.

I have no experience of that particular book but it seems really expensive! I don't think it would entertained mine for very long. Have you got sticker books? B and M do loads. We have a lovely gruffalo one with loads in it from Amazon I think. What about those beading/ threading toys or threading cards? Hope he gets on ok.

Thanks queenparsnip I was thinking the same but was happy to have someone tell me that their DC were mesmerized for hours by them.

Thanks for the B&M tip, I'm not near one but will see if my Mum can go for me as she has one local.
