How long would you leave your child in the car?

Not me. I was sat next to the car with the alarm going off.

Child was about 5/6 years old. Left for 30 minutes (or more as car was there when I arrived and I waited till they left after popping in for my lunch then eating it in the car). 4th row back in round the corner section of supermarket car park (i.e. absolutely no chance of keeping an eye on the child).

Two adults arrived back (couldn't one have stayed in the car?) And said 'have you been a good boy?' Then all drove off together.

What age would you leave your child? My 7 year old is very sensible but I think it would have to be secondary school before I did this for this long. What do you think? I took the car reg but am unsure what to do with it as I'm pretty sure the MASH and police won't be interested.

I think that's terrible. He could have been terrified and if he was fine, that makes me think he is used to being left alone.

I would report it personally.

That's really bad.

I'm generally ok with kids being left in a carseat in a car for a few minutes (presuming that the parent has done it, and knows how their kid is) e.g. petrol forecourts, a napping baby on the drive. But 30 minutes? That's awful.
