Where do you buy your toddlers shoes from?

Baby has only just started to toddle about so need to get him some shoes.
Does everyone get their babies measured at Clarke's? Shoes are about £30 which seems a lot to say they won't be in them very long :(

I got the first pair fitted in Clarks, then bought one of their shoe gauges online. I measure myself now and order online from Clarks Outlet.

Asda’s first walkers are great shoes and a third of the price of Clark’s.

ohmysoul · 21/02/2020 13:35

I agree about the Asda shoes. The first walkers range is brilliant.

Please get shoes fitted properly. Also, even with a Clarks fitting thing you can't rely on all shoes to fit, other brands are cut differently, DD often varied around 1/2 size.

You actually only need shoes if your child walks outside. You could try cruising shoes first, a lot softer than walkers and in the end the important bit is the waterproof sole.

We have an independent shoe shop nearby with a huge children setion, they also stock several European brands which only come in full sizes, therefore the shoe lasts longer.

eBay. Buy a Clark’s foot gauge and then buy second hand shoes off eBay. Lots are in almost pristine condition but are really cheap. I found ASDA shoes really wide so no good.

EssentialHummus · 21/02/2020 13:59

Clarks/Start-Rite in the sales.

LouLouLoupee · 21/02/2020 14:00

I use the Clarks gauge at home to measure and then often order from their sale.
Or it’s easy enough to find the information on websites to see how the measurements fit into their size range.

Itsagrandoldteam · 21/02/2020 14:09

Definitely Clarks, they need to be measured and fitted properly.

firstimemamma · 21/02/2020 14:14

We got ds' first shoes from Clark's.

Lipperfromchipper · 21/02/2020 14:16

Clarks, or indie shops that stock bobux, start right and geox. I don’t think 30 is a bad price tbh OP. I mean it’s your dcs feet!! I wouldn’t be throwing any old pair of shoes on them at the beginning!!

MuddlingThrough1724 · 21/02/2020 14:18

Buy a measuring thing from startrite/amazon and then get asda first walkers. The Clark's measuring thing doesn't measure direct to shoes sizes, you need to convert it using their size charts, so easier to just avoid.

Banana770 · 21/02/2020 14:20

Asda first walkers. Partly because they’re cheap and good value, partly because MILs outrage over not buying Clark’s entertains me! There is a conversion chart on the Clarks website if you measure foot length in cm.

  • good quality even!
