Disposing of old car seats/travel system

We are sorting out our loft and have found our old travel system including car seats. DC are now teens! What can we do with it? I know car seats are meant to perish after a number of years and I assume safety standards have probably changed too. It just seems a huge thing to just throw away but wouldn't feel happy anyone else using it as it probably isn't safe anymore.

We gave away the booster/high backed car seats once we had finished with them, but for some reason we kept the travel system.

I would take the car seat to the tip and then sell the pushchair part

Or donate the pushchair bit to a charity shop

If there's a baby bank near you, they are usually happy to take pushchairs and pass them to families in need. Car seat probably best binned though.

Cut the straps on the car seat and trash it as much as possible so it’s not usable and take to the tip.

Thank you for mentioning the baby bank. There is one about 20 miles from us, so might check whether there is anything they need that is currently lurking in our loft, together with the pushchair.
