The best sports leggings?

I have been through a few that are just not comfy or that slide down as you run. Currently looking at fabletics.
What would you recommend?

I'm going to get some fabletics ince I've been paid this month. I've heard great things about the leggings, really good quality. Heard terrible things about the customer service and the whole VIP sign up but I'm willing to put up with that to get my two pairs for £24

Dafspunk · 21/02/2020 07:55

Lilybod, Sweaty Betty, Lululemon

Didntwanttochangemyname · 21/02/2020 07:56

Absolutely not fabletics, they are fashion leggings. Have you looked at tikiboo? They have a drawstring waist so they don't fall down at all when running etc. Also, they are a material that dries very quickly.

My best pair are from m&s!
I’ve been tempted by fabletics but the hassle of sign up has put me off.

I have a pair from Decathlon - great pockets, good price, but do tend to slide down a bit - i think I shou"d have sized up. A pair from Run Mummy Run - good pocket, high waist, stay up but feel a bit thin and not as supportive as the Decathlon ones (possibly because I sized up). They are squatproof though - I checked! And an old pair from Ronhill - high waist, stay up, but the pocket is too small for my phone.

I like them all, I think my Run Mummy Run ones would be my favourite, followed by the Decathlon ones, followed by the Ronhills.

SinglePringle · 21/02/2020 08:01

Fabletics are shit. Bad quality, thin and the fall down.

Sweaty Betty and Lululemon are expensive but worth it. Last forever, wicking, very comfortable and stay put.

PhilipJennings · 21/02/2020 08:02

I have two from sweaty Betty that have fab compression and have never rolled down. Expensive but worth it.

Greenteandchives · 21/02/2020 08:04

Under Armour are my favourites and I have tried a lot of brands in my time. Nike second best.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/02/2020 08:04

I've heard good things about gymshark, but they are quite pricey. They are high waisted, apparently very tight. I'm going to get myself a pair when I get paid because I'm so sick of having to 'hoik' while running.

My best pair is a regular pair from tkmaxx which I opened the waistband on and threaded a piece of 2inch wise elastic through and tied up. They are super tight!

blametheparents · 21/02/2020 08:05

I really like my Victoria Sport leggings. High waisted, and really comfortable.

Throughabushbackwards · 21/02/2020 08:05

I wear leggings most days for work, the best are:

Gap sculpt
LNDR
Sweaty Betty - but I buy a size down so they don't roll

For running you want a drawstring waist.
Anything else is just a faff.
My favourite brand is Nike - I haven’t been able to stretch to Lululemon.
You can generally find some discounted a bit on Sports Direct.

ThursdayLastWeek · 21/02/2020 08:08

I would ah that it’s worth investing in them.
My ones from Karrimor and H&M for example are thin, the elastic rolls inside the waistline.

2pointfourmonkeys · 21/02/2020 08:13

I second decathlon leggings, always size up though.
They do lovely winter leggings which are slightly brushed inside, perfect for this weather!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 21/02/2020 08:22

My longest lasting pairs are from Tesco and Dunnes stores. Unfortunately neither has a phone pocket as they are otherwise perfect

TSSDNCOP · 21/02/2020 08:32

I’m a label junky but my best ones are from Sainsbury.

I like high waisted, but now I find that to get that you have a 4 inch panel stitched on at the top Confused this creates a nasty mid-drift seam and doesn’t prevent roll down.

If anyone can recommend high waisted size 16 without the panel I’d be grateful!

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 21/02/2020 09:09

Im a competitive weightlifter so I live in gym clothes, and have a lot of experience of this!

Look up AYBL, or Gym Shark. Both so comfy and long lasting.

AuntieStella · 21/02/2020 09:27

Decathlon own brand

Easily the best VFM.

Inexpensive, good fabric, drawstring, pockets. Variety of lengths/colours/thicknesses available (changes with the season)

Also, for those who want larger sizes, try Contra (the parkrun associated inclusive/ethical brand)

Thanks ladies!

I only ever wear Sweaty Betty leggings now (buy in the sales). They're consistently good (but try before you buy, I've had a few fail the squat test), wash well, wear well. I'm wearing one of my first pairs today, they must be about 4 years old and get worn weekly.
