When are you thinking of?

Frownette · 19/02/2020 19:18

Fossil walks, rather sweet little museum, put on a big coat and pretend to be Meryl Streep.

There’s a beach .... or at least there was a beach last week!
There’s ice cream, fish and chips, pubs, fossil hunting, walks along the cobb, an aquarium, rock pooling, mackerel fishing, beautiful gardens, the town mill cafe, lovely boutiquey shops, crazy golf......

HappyDinosaur · 19/02/2020 19:22

Walk along the cob, dig for fossils, lovely walks and old town, pitch and putt (good for kids). I've not been for some time but it used to be worth a visit.

Frownette · 19/02/2020 19:23

Oh I'd forgotten about French lieutenants woman.

Thanks all, tomorrow I'll take a little walk, eat crab sandwiches and read some books (got tons of books on me)

The seagulls also love crab sandwiches so have your wits about you.

The Mark Hix restaurant is worth a visit, food is beautiful as is the view

Frownette · 19/02/2020 19:30

A tour of the mill is interesting and there is a nice walk along the river. Good cafe attached along with a few craft shops and local brewery shop.

reefedsail · 19/02/2020 19:38

I would say go down to Charmouth as it's much better fossiling there, but I reckon the cliffs will be pretty lethal after Dennis.

Go and buy a knitted belemnite!

There is a lovely second hand book shop, really good italian restaurant called Antonios Trattoria, excellent independant coffee shop called amid giants and idols. You can walk along the beach to Charmouth (weather and tide dependant) and get the bus back. Generally lovely relaxing place just to walk and explore........enjoy
