My French is pretty decent normally, but I have to write a letter and because it's both a fairly emotional subject for me and because Google translate is not the place to go or this sort of thing, I'm asking here if anyone can please help me.
The letter I need to write is to a priest (a hermit priest, if it matters) and I want to send a gift of money for complicated reasons to do with my family and a death and the house the hermit priest now lives in.
What I want to say is "Dear Father A, please accept this gift in memory of B. We were sorry to hear of the loss of so many of the things he left behind and we hope this will help to replace them". The rest I can manage, but I'm finding it impossible to write this part (probably just because of the subject matter, but I'm finding myself getting in a bit of a state about it).
