Does pregnancy make your vagina looser?

I feel a massive fool asking this but does being pregnant affect your vagina? I’ve been advised by the midwife to be perineal massage and I can’t believe how loose it feels! I know that having had forceps for the first birth will have had an effect but I’m sure it wasn’t to this extent. Is it just me? Blush

Well something the size of a watermelon works it’s way out of there so yes it’s never the same again, a bit loose....

It’s the price of having a baby 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks, yeah I know birth can have an effect but was just wondering if pregnancy itself loosens things. I know you get relaxin and I wondered if that had altered things because I’m sure it wasn’t this bad before I got pregnant but I guess time will tell!

Not entirely sure about the vagina muscles specifically but I know that pregnancy does loosen ligaments and muscles - something to do with hormones? - so I guess it could do!

In French hospitals you are taken through pelvic/vaginal exercises immediatly after birth and thereafter have regular sessions with a pelvic coach.

Do pelvic floor exercises everyday. In fact every woman should do them- everyday.
