Nitrofurantoin - bright yellow or brown pee

It's bright yellow in the day (I assume because I've taken the tablets) and throughout the day. Also drinking water by the bucket.

Then last night, lots of water before bed but dark yellow/brown wee when I got up?

So, is this normal... and why does it change the colour of your pee... more alarmed at the dark yellow/brown when I got up despite having drink about 2 pints of water before bed.

I’ve taken this medicine a few times over the years and think that is pretty normal.

I'm on Nitrofurantin now, I haven't had much change in colour but I know it is one of the side effects. The good thing is it works quickly & stops the pain within 24 hours.

Yes, I started them yesterday @Nat6999 and it's easing already.

It's normal. We tell people your pee may go bright orange or just change colour. A few medicines do this.

Yeah it’s normal, you never get used to it though!
