Does anyone sleep on a sofa bed? I need one comfy enough to sleep on everynight

We don't have enough bedrooms.

Have decided to give up mine and sleep in the living room. It's a tiny living room so need a sofa bed but obviously needs to be comfy as it's my and DH bed for the next 10 years!

Any ideas?

If I needed to use it every night for the next ten years I’d be looking at a company that specialises in sofa beds rather than a company that sells one or two. Like www.furl.co.uk/sofa-beds for instance.

Me and DP used to sleep on a futon. We spent quite a lot of money on one and it was comfortable, although probably not suitable for someone who can't deal with hard beds. Apparently they are good for your back.

I sleep on a lyksele sofa bed from Ikea several nights a week. It doesn't look it, but it's really comfy. It's a better bed than a sofa though.

Have you thought about a Murphy bed?

I slept on a futon for a year or so - I was in my twenties so (much) younger and fitter but it was great for me. It is firmer than a conventional bed and even with the frame it was lower down than a normal bed height but I slept really well on it,

I've seen murpgy beds but our living room is SO small that I don't think it could fold down with the sofa in it as well. You wouldn't be able to open the doors which is a fire hazard.

I've just sold our lycksele sofa bed, it was comfy as a bed as pp says but it really was a terribly uncomfortable sofa.

I've been sleeping on a futon from Funky Futon for years and it's perfectly comfortable for sitting and sleeping, but obviously it's not the softest option.

The day bed from Ikea is comfy
