6 weeks since raising fault with Ikea about new kitchen

We had an IKEA kitchen installed last year. We used their fitting service, which comes with a 10 year guarantee. We noticed a leak inside the cupboard under the sink and also water coming through under the kickboards. This is a concern as the flooring is new and is starting to become visibly damaged.

I called Ikea on 2nd January and raised the issue. I hadn’t heard anything for a week and called them again. Someone eventually came out on 21st Jan. He confirmed it was a fitter’s error and some of the kitchen would need to be replaced. He said he’d be in touch the next week - nothing. When I contacted him, he said he’d speak to Ikea.

I’ve called Ikea numerous times since; I’m always either fobbed off or transferred to someone else who says they’ve logged it and someone will be ringing me on x day, they never call. I emailed the kitchen service this morning and again raised the issue, this time threatening a formal complaint and again, no response.

I’m feeling really fed up now. We spent £10k on the kitchen and the new floor is slowly being ruined.

Can anyone give any advice on how to get them to sort it out once and for all?

Have you posted anything onto their social media?

Facebook, Twitter etc? They tend to respond to public complaints quicker.

I don’t have social media but could get my husband to use his. Will try it tomorrow :-)

Also try communicating with them in writing. They hate that.
