Can I freeze tinned food?

Food that comes in a tin/can, can I freeze it? Beans? Macaroni cheese? So my kids don't have to eat the same thing in many meals across a few days?

Yes of course, just treat the same as anything made on the day you opened the tin. It might not have a great texture when defrosted though as it already tends to be quite mushy...only you know if your DC would mind/notice. I'd just buy the half-sized tins though. One of those is a great portion of spaghetti hoops etc for kids.

Half tins work out more expensive, I wouldn't do that.

I freeze tinned stuff all the time if it's not being used. For things like any sort of beans, every so often, I just collect up what's there and put them all in a chilli.
