What should I get for my chocolate stash

I'm 17 weeks pregnant, and in need of a chocolate stash. I had one of those giant galaxy bars and got just over halfway through it over a few days (this represents self control for me), but went back to it after 2 days and found that DH had snaffled the rest!

Notwithstanding his terrible behaviour, what should I get for my (now) secret chocolate stash? I'm thinking it needs to fit in a tupperware tub, and with single portion size things to prevent me from scoffing too much in one go (healthy eating in pregnancy blah blah blah), and also must be gluten free (I'm coeliac).

So lovely mumsnetters - what should the priority chocolate bars be?

Mini eggs!

BusySittingDown · 08/02/2020 20:41

Tony's Chocolonely. I recommend the sea salt caramel one.

4amWitchingHour · 08/02/2020 20:41

YES, buy in bulk during the window of opportunity!

Sorry, missed the bit about being gluten free. I'm not sure - you'd have to check. It's such chunky chocolate though.

BettysLeftTentacle · 08/02/2020 20:43

The sea salt Lindt bar.
Godiva caramel.
Milkybar.
Kinder bueno (all of them).

BettysLeftTentacle · 08/02/2020 20:45

Sorry I don’t read you need GF ones either!

BusySittingDown · 08/02/2020 20:45

Btw I had a sobbing meltdown in Tesco over a bar of Galaxy when I was pregnant.

If my DH had eaten my chocolate he would have been under the patio! Your DH is lucky Grin

PrincessHoneysuckle · 08/02/2020 20:46

Crunchie

Caramel78 · 08/02/2020 20:46

Terry’s choc orange
Lindt Lindor Bar
Milky bar
Twirl
Mint aero
Toblerone

AmethystMoonShine · 08/02/2020 20:47

I don’t think the Tony’s one is suitable for coeliacs Sad

The new kit Kat Easter bunnies are however gluten free and individually wrapped.
Minstrels?

BusySittingDown · 08/02/2020 20:49

Sad It says "may contain traces of gluten".

AmethystMoonShine · 08/02/2020 20:53

Doisy and Dam kits are GF
Daim bars
Curly wurly
Bendicks mint crisps
Also choceur lots are GF
After eights are GF I think
Green and blacks butterscotch milk choc is GF I think

MartyrGuacamole · 08/02/2020 20:53

I went on a chocolate workshop a couple of weeks ago. The lady running it recommended eating 55% chocolate, apparently it has enough cocoa beans so the flavour remains on your tongue but isn't bitter. We tried it and it was very satisfying!

AmethystMoonShine · 08/02/2020 20:54

Doisy and Dam bars not kits! Blush

4amWitchingHour · 08/02/2020 20:55

Aw thank you for your concern on the GF front - I sometimes run the gauntlet when it comes to chocolate and gluten free, and have not come a cropper yet with the 'made in the same factory as...' - will take a look.

Excellent suggestions - I was obsessed with mint aero in school when they were in the vending machines, time to revisit!

@BusySittingDown - he's given up smoking which seems to have activated a dormant sweet tooth, so I've been lenient and managed not to threaten either divorce or death. If it happens again though...

A box with a lock on it!

AmethystMoonShine · 08/02/2020 21:56

My daughter has Coeliac disease @4amWitchingHour so I’m used to needed chocolate that’s safe!

dustibooks · 08/02/2020 22:02

Mars bars? They were one of my cravings when I was upduffed. Along with sausage rolls and bananas. And strawberry flavoured toothpaste.

InfiniteCurve · 08/02/2020 22:12

I bought a cappucino Divine bar in the Oxfam shop today - a mistake,I think as it was so good Grin
It says 'may contain cereals containing gluten and nuts' but the ingredients list doesn't have anything like that in it?

homemadecommunistrussia · 08/02/2020 22:13

Frys turkish delight

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/02/2020 22:38

Reece's peanut butter cup minis or the new peanut butter creme egg.

YogaLite · 09/02/2020 09:36

Any dark chocolate.
You could even make it healthier by making your own - dried fruit covered in DARK chocolate...
