Can anyone recommend a good Indian vegetarian recipe book

I tried some Sikh food at a Gurdwara - it was bloody delicious, but no-one uses a recipe book. They just know them! (In the same way that I know how to make shepherd's pie, and Yorkshire puddings). I've googled "Sikh cookery"on Amazon but it got me nowhere.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a not too expensive book, please?

www.amazon.co.uk/Eastern-Vegetarian-Cooking-Madhur-Jaffrey/dp/0099777207?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

This is not purely Indian but from all over the "East" and is excellent. My dad makes loads of stuff from it and he is an amazing cook Smile

Seconding Fresh India, it is fantastic. One of my top 2 most-used cookbooks.

I also like the Prashad cookbooks, especially the first one; and Anjum Anand's Vegetarian Feast.

Oh and also these guys... www.thespicery.com/

Dan Toombs - The Curry Guy veggie, there is also an app and there are loads of recipes on his website. We had punjabi chole (also called chana masala) for lunch today from the app. He cooks both traditional Indian dishes and western restaurant style ones.

East and Fresh India as has been mentioned already. They're lush!

These all look great - and a website you say, flamingo - I'll check that out, too.

Thanks all
