Anyone moved areas when their kids were in primary school?

Thinking od moving to a nicer area but have 2 kids currently at the local school (p2 and nursery) which is a lovely little school but we really would prefer to live somewhere a bit nicer.

Both kids are quiet and shy and havent really made good friends yet so thinking a fresh start might be good (or could be a disaster).

Any words of wisdom from those that have done it already?

We moved from one end of England to the other when dc were 7 and 10. They settled well into their new school, although eldest missed her friends for quite a while.
