When selling and buying a house at the same time

Please can someone tell me the order of things?

(Stupidly low) Offer accepted on ours.
Offer accepted with vendor.
Solicitor our end instructed.
Received DIP- need to progress to the full application.

However, what comes first the surveys on both properties then mortgage? Or mortgage than surveys?
Should I wait to make sure the survey on our house is fine before proceeding to do one on the potential new house?
How do I know if the vendor is doing her bit, do I leave that to the estate agent to deal with?
I’m also a bit concerned about the DIP being converted to an official offer, I presume they wouldn’t give us one unless it was likley we would pass?

Very stressful, please someone remind me never to do this again Confused

I hate moving houses and find it really stressful. Survey first but very little in it.

We’ve always got an agreement in principle and then instigated the survey and done the paperwork for the mortgage at the same time. If the survey says the property is worth less than the offer, then the mortgage offer is usually lowered.
