Indecisive - concert tickets, seated or standing?

Buying concert tickets for my Mum's birthday.

Arena concert, Deacon Blue so nothing particularly mad! Standing is obviously stage front on ground level seats are higher level only and availability is mostly side of stage rather than centre view. Probably 2-3 hours I imagine.

Help me decide which to go for please!

Ive only been seated once at a gig, I vowed never to do it again, standing all the way.
I just didn't feel part of things.

Raera · 05/02/2020 20:33

I'd also go for standing, so you feel "part" of the event.
Which arena?

Standing would be the better experience. I’m assuming your mum is reasonably young/healthy? If she has any kind of medical condition which might mean she struggles with standing for a few hours, then go for seats. She won’t enjoy it if she’s uncomfortable.

Seated.

ilovetrees30 · 05/02/2020 20:39

I've always got seated tickets for concerts but spend most of the time stood up. That's happened at every concert I've been too.

Had seats for a counting crows concert years ago and we were seated, but stood the whole time. It would have been useless me standing in the central area as I am so short and would have seen nothing

MapMyMum · 05/02/2020 20:44

Depends how your mum would cope with standing for that long. I love standing at a concert but my mum cant so we always sit when we go together and I can stand up if I want to

BlueEyedFloozy · 05/02/2020 20:51

She'd be fine standing, she'll be 51 so not old by any stretch but think we might go for seated so the option is there.

It's at the new arena in Aberdeen so I've no idea of layout which isn't helping!

Your mum is two years older than me and I've bought standing Grin (although not for Aberdeen).

Standing all the way. I also don't think its fair to go seated and stand, the person behind you might need to be sitting down for a reason.

notacooldad · 05/02/2020 21:07

I'm 4 years older than your mum and I wouldn't dream of sitting down at a gig.
