Do they waive the requirement for one parent to look for work? How does it work as I can’t find much info online anywhere

When I claimed carers there was no requirement to seek work, it's very low though and my h wasn't low income so no other benefits just basic carers

If you are claiming carers you wont have to seek work

I know this doesn't apply.to.you OP as your child has SEN, but when I had to home educate my child with disabilities until suitable school provision became available, I was shocked at the level of entitlement that many home educators in my local group had towards benefits and their choice to electively HE (no SEN) There was outrage at the UC roll out as this would impinge on their 'right' to HE, with some even saying that the government should pay them the cost of a school place per year Hmm

Tbh if there weren’t any other issues I wouldn’t be home educating
Tried 3 time’s for just the ehcp assessment got nowhere so many battles and no suitable provision so it’s a necessity and it’s not easy but I do want to dedicate my time to it as much as possible because it’s something I want to do right that’s why I was stressed thinking what will happen but as I e seen the carers entitlement should be the answer
