6 weeks 1 day fetal pole but no heartbeat

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone had been in a similar situation. I booked an early scan and they told me they couldn’t date the pregnancy as they thought I was too early (I thought I was 7 weeks). I then got referred to the early pregnancy unit who dated my pregnancy at 6 weeks and 1 day.
They said they could see the fetal pole but could not see a heartbeat. I have to go back in 1 weeks time for a rescan. I’m trying not to panic and worry but it’s hard not to!

Has anyone else had a similar experience and what was the outcome?

Me!! Exactly the same situation, for other reasons they suspected an ectopic pregnancy so I was scanned weekly from 4-9 weeks, they only found the heartbeat at 8 weeks. I was around 6 weeks when they said they could see the fetal pole but no heartbeat. Really worrying time but all turned out absolutely fine! Try not to worry although much easier said than done I know!

I know it’s hard and I know it won’t stop you worrying, but there’s a good chance the baby is too small. Hand hold for the next week x

First baby was ectopic, so had early scans for the next five pregnancies. Four did this and needed re scanning, of which three were absolutely fine and are now super noisy. One hadn’t progressed at the next scan. Decent odds?

Had an early scan because I was convinced I was having a miscarriage (I wasn't!), around 6 weeks and they couldn't say for sure. All was well when I came back 10 days later and am 37 weeks today 😊
