If you only watch Netflix, ITV Hub, More 4 and My 5... do you need a TV license?

No live programmes, no BBC I player. Just soaps that were broadcast already and old box sets...

No

Cheers... I googled it and I also emailed them asking the same question but they won't actually say "you don't need to pay it!"

No, we didn’t have one for years.

from the Gov site:
www.gov.uk/tv-licence

You must have a TV Licence if you:

  • watch or record programmes on a TV, computer or other device as they’re broadcast
  • download or watch BBC programmes on iPlayer – live, catch up or on demand

so you do need a licence for BBC catchup - but not for any other catchup / streaming services

I never watch anything on the BBC or listen to the BBC radio services so have been told by TV licensing that I don't need one. We only really watch Netflix, Amazon or NowTV. I don't even have an aerial.

No you don't. I cancelled mine a couple of years ago as I'm in the same situation - only watch Netflix and a bit of channel four catch up. I spoke to someone on the phone at TV licensing about it and they confirmed I didn't need one but to let them know if anything changed. I haven't heard anything else since, no emails, reminder letters etc.
