Why did my double yolk egg look deformed

It was wasn't the same colour and was lumpy and conjoined.

It does look odd. Did you eat it?

Some malformation but no idea what it means, it also looks like the lumpy one was older. It’s the sort of thing you’d call your kids to have a look at and they’d tell all their friends about it. You didn’t eat it, right?

Why have I got a horrible feeling the OP ate it anyway....?!

When I saw the title of this thread I ought it was something to do with fertility, ovulation :-) and felt squeamish opening it. What a relief!

Looks like the hen was expecting triplets.

This happens with a young hen as they come into lay.
It's sort of a practice run until they get the hang of one yolk per egg. You get all sorts of tiny or dumbbell shaped eggs that just don't make it through to the customer. Presumably your egg looked ok from the outside.

Haha, no I didn't eat it 🤮. I wonder if I'll get any more like this, big box of eggs.
