What are Lidl Moments of Happiness?

Item on receipt from today, £1.19. Can't think of anything bought by that name, they're not biscuits, and googling hasn't been helpful. Confused

Chocolates or sweets perhaps? Just a guess! shop in Lidl and have never come across this!

HirplesWithHaggis · 03/02/2020 23:19

That was my first thought, and I giggled a little at the thought of having moments of happiness in the Lidl checkout queue. Then I asked dh what they were, since he had done the shopping, and he doesn't know. We have both searched the "treats" basket he refilled today, where we stash sweeties, crisps, biscuits and so on, but there's nothing corresponding. And when I googled I found a mention of a Lidl booklet (presumably with coupons/discount codes) called "Moments" but he doesn't have one of those either. So still Confused.

When was your shop? Was it Friday, Saturday or Sunday?

HirplesWithHaggis · 03/02/2020 23:28

Today, at 14.21.

Whatever it is, it's B rated for VAT @ 20%, so a "luxury" item.

Your DH has eaten them on the way home?

Papergirl1968 · 03/02/2020 23:41

Pet food?

HirplesWithHaggis · 03/02/2020 23:46

Not pet food, though the shop did include cat biscuits, duly listed on the receipt. And no, I don't think dh would have eaten them on the way home, that would be very ununsual behaviour. (Married over 35 years, he's never done anything like that.)

I’m a Lidl shopper, I find £1.19 to be an off price.
Was anything bought from the aisle of tat?

HirplesWithHaggis · 04/02/2020 00:01

Nothing from the (wonderous!) aisle of tat.

Appreciating the responses, btw. I'll maybe tweet Lidl in the morning if MN can't solve it.

I found whatever it is mentioned on this site: between Ovaltine and cappuccino sticks but I have no idea if that's relevant or not.

Is that the name for Lidl branded condoms?!

HirplesWithHaggis · 04/02/2020 00:06

I found that receipt too, Penguins, but it's not a clicky link and I couldn't understand the point...

Mixingitall, dh laughed when I read out your post. We're well past the point of using them, but perhaps I should start checking his phone? Shock

I've had this before and I think it was something new from the bakery Isle?

Christmadtree · 04/02/2020 00:11

By bakery Isle, I mean the fresh baking bit with pretzels and cheese twists etc

PenguinsOnParade · 04/02/2020 00:12

Hirples - it just seems to be literally a list of things someone bought in Lidl with no links. It's an odd page for sure but did have me wondering if it was from the hot drink aisle. I've asked DH if he can think of anything as he was shopping in Lidl today too but he has no idea.

HirplesWithHaggis · 04/02/2020 00:13

I know the bit you mean, but dh says no, he didn't get anything there today. (I do trust him on this.)

Thanks again Penguins, we are truly perplexed! Grin Now entertaining the fantasy that my reward for glancing at a receipt and querying it will be a Wonka-style Golden Ticket...

Is there anything bought not on the receipt? Could be it's scanned incorrectly or the cashier put in the wrong code. But if a pest having to trawl the shopping to see what it might be .

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 04/02/2020 00:16

He didn’t get another* bag did he?

*I say another as I judge by my own useless standards

GarlicSoup · 04/02/2020 00:17

A vibrator from the discounted box? Grin

Mixingitall · 04/02/2020 00:18

Flowers?

HirplesWithHaggis · 04/02/2020 00:24

No, not bags, not a vibrator... unless he has a livelier private life than I have been led to believe all these years... Shock Grin

I didn't check off the shopping against the receipt, just stashed it as he brought it in and he gave me the receipt later as a sort of note of what he'd bought. And I smiled at "moments of happiness" and forgot about it, till the receipt niggled at me and I tried googling and... nothing!

HirplesWithHaggis · 04/02/2020 00:26

Not flowers, he bought me daffs at the weekend. (Just because.)
