did they accept your decision or sulk and hold it against you for ages?

DS is 15 and "all his friends have it" but we have told that him that we wouldn't get it for a variety of reasons. He's not happy of course but I'm standing my ground in this.

I've not had this experience (I did buy it for my DS's Christmas, but he was 21 at the time!) but you're right to stand your ground. It is totally unsuitable for anyone under 18.

Let your DS sulk all he wants.

Yep. I'm afraid that is precisely what I've told him. Sulking is not going to make me want to rush out and buy it!

I've found my 12 year old playing it Shock It has been deleted. Alarmingly though he had plenty of his classmates to play it with online.

Ds (13) isn't allowed either and he's just accepted it tbh. He's not prone to being reasonable so I think he must know there's no point...

Literally ALL of his friends have it though (and they have he's not just saying that)

I've seen lots of threads about GTA on here over the years and a recurring theme is that, it seems, so many young people, indeed "all their friends" have it (I say young people not teens, because some are younger than that!)Who are these irresponsible parents? No MNers ever admit to it!

Tombakersscarf · 03/02/2020 20:03

Well mine got it by having a game pass on a £1 trial - we would never have said yes but once he had the pass he could download without our knowing. I did notice he was turning the tv off whenever he left his room, I had a check - and saw why!
