I'm so pissed off!!

How bad is this?

Moved house, DS and DH digging the garden and they find a largish bone which is clearly an old pet.

DS takes it to his room and baby DS just found its and put it in his fucking mouth.

How serious is this?

Do I need to panic or not?

No, I wouldn’t panic. I’d chalk it up to one of those things and save it as an anecdote for his 18th!

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 02/02/2020 18:17

Sorry, I’m just chuckling comparing this to the “my ds ate a bit of raw dough” thread yesterday! Shouts of e-coli, gastroenteritis, lifelong gestational problems etc!

Gross but he’ll be fine I’m sure!

FlaskMaster · 02/02/2020 18:18

Oh no!! It's disgusting but don't panic. There's not much you can do and it'll be fine, it's just gross. Most of them put something gross from the garden in their mouth at some point. I don't think a bone is really any worse than a slug or a mouthful of mud, just psychologically it feels worse somehow.

adaline · 02/02/2020 18:18

He'll be fine. Toddlers crawl around and put all sorts in their mouths Grin

KellyHall · 02/02/2020 18:20

If the bone was clean, with no actual animal still attached (🤢) it'll probably be so old nothing nasty should happen.

TheNoiseHurts · 02/02/2020 18:20

God they are so gross.

This has got to be the worst yet.

My DS ate an adult toenail he found on the floor in soft play at that age. I only know because I caught him chewing on it like a toothpick - then he swallowed it as soon as I tried to get his mouth open.

meandmylot · 02/02/2020 18:20

How old is the baby? I think most put something grim in their mouth and are absolutely fine, at worst an upset tum.

TheNoiseHurts · 02/02/2020 18:20

It was a very clean bone just covered in mud.

redwoodmazza · 02/02/2020 18:20

Mine ate a handful of potting compost when he was 2!

Whynosnowyet · 02/02/2020 18:21

Ds teethed on dry dcat food!!
Slept in ddog bed also.
16 no and no harm done ..

LittleDragonGirl · 02/02/2020 18:22

Chalk It up to bad luck..

Hopefully you'll see the funny side soon, and make sure you keep it in memory to wind him up about when hes older!

yellowallpaper · 02/02/2020 18:24

Won't get to our old dog, she's 6 foot down.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 02/02/2020 18:24

I read a thread on here once from a woman who tried to take her DC for an idyllic walk along the beach... Within minutes her DD fell and cut her head open on a rock, and while she was trying to comfort her and stem the bleeding, her toddler DS found a dried up dog turd and started eating it like an apple.

vampirethriller · 02/02/2020 18:26

Don't worry! Mine ate a piece of raw ox heart from the dog bowl not long ago. My youngest sister once ate a mouse spleen, that the cat had left. She was fine too.

BeeFarseer · 02/02/2020 18:26

I'm grimacing and laughing at the same time.

MsChatterbox · 02/02/2020 18:26

@JesusInTheCabbageVan that really made me gag Envy

MsChatterbox · 02/02/2020 18:26

🤢*

Crockof · 02/02/2020 18:28

When I found my baby chewing on a piece of raw hide I decided I no longer needed to sterilize his plates.

HavelockVetinari · 02/02/2020 18:29

Oh yuck! Sympathy. I once had DS held against my chest turned towards the llamas I was showing him (we were at the zoo). I turned my head to talk to BIL, when I turned back he was licking the fence of the llama enclosure Envy

He survived and is a healthy toddler 18 months on. Kids are gross! Grin

DinosApple · 02/02/2020 18:31

Mine did this too. Tottering along in an old church yard. Straight off a mole hill and into her mouth. Human finger bone.

She was fine.

Reallybadidea · 02/02/2020 18:31

My friend once found her toddler scooping toilet bowl water into his mouth Envy

TheNoiseHurts · 02/02/2020 18:37

Nooooooo human finger bone!!!

😭😭

Thank you all for calming me down and making me feel less hysterical.

When my Dgd was about 18 months old,she retrieved a piece of fish tank filter sponge from the top of the rubbish bin, stuffed it in her mouth and had a good old slurp on it! My Dd was frantic with worry (it had fish poo on it!) and tried to make her sick, without any luck. But she was fine. Lesson learned, bury fish tank rubbish at the bottom of the bin.

DelurkingAJ · 02/02/2020 18:41

About a year ago I could be found on the London Underground saying:
‘DS2, we do NOT lick the trains!’

The other adults in the carriage were all sniggering.

He did get a sickness bug two days later...which he kindly shared...which I suspect was caused by his decision to try to give smoochies to his reflection in the glass partition on the tube.
