Can anyone recommend anywhere nice to stay in Menorca for young family?

Menorca is beautiful. Where to stay really depends on what you're looking for and what your budget is. Self catering or all inclusive?

The biggest resort is probably Cala'n Bosch you shouldn't have any trouble finding family friendly accommodation there. It's on the opposite side of the island to the airport though, so your transfer is likely to be at least an hour.

Cala Galdana is stunning, but there aren't many hotels and they're quite expensive. Beautiful beach.

We went to Cala'n Porter last year and loved it so much we're going back this year. There's only two hotels as most of the accommodation there are villas, the resort has three large supermarkets and plenty of nice restaurants. The only downside is that the beach is at the bottom of a cliff so you've either got to walk down 200 steps to access it or walk down quite a steep hill. It's not too much of a problem though, we managed just fine and both my kids are under 5.

Son Bou has the longest beach, the rest of the resorts tend to have small coves. It's a lovely beach but when I've looked at booking there it seems all the hotels are a mile or two away from it. Perhaps I've been looking at the wrong ones but proximity to the beach is always top of my wishlist.

I loved the beach at Cala'n Forcat. Its small but perfect for small children to swim/paddle.

I second holiday village in Cala Bosch. A short walk to a fab beach and the lovely harbour village. The holiday village itself is fab!

Cala'n Porter is our favourite for young kids. A peaceful resort with a lovely sheltered cove. As a PP said it's down a long flight of stairs but if you have a car there's parking at the back of the beach. The tapas restaurant Casa Tia is lovely and so is El Polpo restaurant.
