Would you recommend isolation tanks for relaxation?

I’m considering trying it but am curious to know if people found it relaxing or claustrophobic? What was the experience like? The session would be 60 mins long.

I'm claustrophobic and I was fine. Because I knew I could get out.

It is the only place I've ever been able to completely clear my mind while properly awake. Had no clue how long I was in there!

Hi I went through a phase of doing these regularly. It's not claustrophobic, as you can leave the cover cracked open slightly, as the room the tank is in is pitch black anyway. You do lose any sense of the size of the tank. which is a bit weird and can feel a bit panicky. I didn't find it a deeply spiritual or meditative experience like some do - I just used to have a nap! But the very high magnesium content in the water guaranteed a great night's sleep afterwards 😀

very relaxing
I had the choice of pitch dark or star lights

Following with interest! I’ve been wanting to try this for a while. I meditate regularly so I think I would quite enjoy it.

I can't imagine anything worse, I think I'd panic massively. I do like magnesium in the water though, I buy the bath salts (in B&M for not much money) and it really helps.

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 30/01/2020 20:54

The ones I use are massive. The ones I use are cube shaped, with an access door you step through. The floating area is the size of a king size bed. Lights on or off, music on or off. It’s amazing.

myidentitymycrisis · 30/01/2020 21:02

Is this the same thing as a floatation tank?

puds11 · 30/01/2020 21:08

@myidentitymycrisis yes it’s the same thing.

Ooh I’m excited by the positive reviews! Think I’ll definitely give it a go. Thank you Flowers
