Tesco online shopping - products disappearing?

Does anyone shop with Tesco online and have noticed that more and more of their products are disappearing? Seems to be own brand stuff mostly, Some Stockwell and Co stuff - but I've noticed it's still available in the shop?

Yeah, I've noticed that things are frequently disappearing off my favorites list

Selfsettling3 · 30/01/2020 18:27

I’ve noticed this with free from products to the extent I’m thinking of swapping to Sainsbury.

Saffie99 · 30/01/2020 18:27

Me too - Tesco's free from range is pretty rubbish as well!

Yes- I swapped to Ocado but the same is happening. Is it some sort of algorithm designed to force us into shopping more widely I wonder?

Saffie99 · 30/01/2020 18:29

I wondered whether they were getting rid of the cheaper products online to force me to buy the more expensive version...

I've noticed a couple of things turning up at other supermarkets, so I'm guessing it's a supply/purchasing issue

homemadecommunistrussia · 30/01/2020 18:36

Their own brand vegetarian stuff is definitely going missing- I am hoping they are just rebranding things.

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 30/01/2020 18:37

Me too, but in the shops rather than online. Going to give Asda a try as I'm getting fed up of it!

Saffie99 · 30/01/2020 18:45

@homemadecommunistrussia yes I've noticed that too. They have rebranded some stuff I think

Yes totally agree.

I've used tesco for over ten years. Points were a huge draw. Plus good basics range. On Monday they brought my shopping three hours late without phoning and with really poor substitute options or just nothing available.

I've sat today while baby napping and done a practice shop in sainsburys, again because of nectar points. It came out slightly cheaper, the delivery saver pass is cheaper plus you get way more options to get extra points. I'm so fed up with tesco I'm going to try them.

My biggest annoyance is I tend to shop all week. So finish peanut butter, add it to basket. When I come to check out on a Sunday there's always at least twenty things missing.

Yes, definitely. A weeks ago, you couldn't get any type of broccoli apart from tenderstem.
This week, I could only get an organic cucumber. Really basic things.
For any of you thinking of changing to Sainsbury's, Sainsbury's was the cheapest supermarket of the year in the most recent "Which".issue.

MiniMum97 · 30/01/2020 19:21

Yes it's been happening for a number of months but getting ridiculous now. More and more of my staples keep dropping off. Very anointing. I've contacted them to complain a few times but they couldn't care less. Glad others are noticing as hopefully complaints from more people they will stop and bring some products back.

DickAmbush · 30/01/2020 19:23

Tesco have definitely started withdrawing their current vegetarian range, which I'm gutted about as I love the bean burgers and vegetable fingers. I had to buy as many of the discounted ones they had left as I could fit into the freezer!

MiniMum97 · 30/01/2020 19:23

And I think they've stop selling the amazing 100% peanut Tesco own peanut butter. Gutted!

gamerwidow · 30/01/2020 19:26

This happens a lot with Tescos sometimes if you search manually for the produce you'll find it's still there but they've changed the size slightly e.g. 500g strawberries is now 450g strawberries etc.
Sometimes products just disappear randomly for weeks and then reappear again.
Is anyone else having trouble booking delivery slots? I used to be able to guarantee a 10am saturday slot if i ordered my food on a thursday, then i had to start ordering from a wednesday now even on a wednesday there are no slots.
I used to order from Sainsburys and still have a log in so I might start doing it again...

Our local Tesco has recently been refurbished. I’m convinced that they’ve widened the aisles resulting in less shelving for stock. I think although they still stock most items, there is definitely less choice in size/brand/price. Last time I went I wanted Parmesan cheese and there were only about 3 options.
They also seem to be stocking more of the cheaper varieties, which is okay some of the time, but not always.

Skyejuly · 30/01/2020 21:07

I find it so annoying lately. Will try sainsburys.
