The site’s hateful-conduct policy bans the promotion of violence or inciting harm on the basis of race, religion, national origin or gender identity.

The Centre for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), the campaign group who met with Twitter representatives, are now calling for Ms Hopkins’ account to be removed entirely from the site.

In a statement, the CCDH said: “We are pleased that Twitter appears to have taken action against Katie Hopkins, following our discussions with them this week.

She'll use this to her advantage to demonstrate how shes been stopped from 'telling it like it is'. Shes best ignored at all times. A woman who would rather see her children homeless than apologise for libelling someone has serious personality problems.

She deliberately uses her platform to spread unchecked stories about minority groups. Designed to stir up hate - I don't know if that's her intention or not - but that's what happens.

I saw some of her tweets had disappeared yesterday for "violating Twitter rules" but her account was still there.
Not seen that it has gone completely though so now off to read the articles!
I used to think she was entitled to her opinion - until she went waaaaay too far with the final solution tweet.
That was the WTF?! moment for me - some absolutely hateful stuff, not surprised her account's gone if so.
