Pain the jaw and ear - agony!

Yesterday afternoon I felt it click and sting and it felt a little tender for the rest of the day.

Today, I've had slight discomfort in the morning but oh my god eating lunch. I'm in agony. Its searing pain in the jaw and up into my ear. I can hear my ear popping as I chew.

What on earth?!

Google TMJ - I've had this and it's really painful.
Not a lot you can do though apart from painkillers and rubbing it!

Same as poster above. Sounds like tmj. An exercise you can do to help is to keep your tongue pushed to the top of your mouth and Open and close your mouth

Thanks I'll look at that. I do carry a lot of tension round my jawbone (migraines etc are often felt in my teeth and gums), I also must be tense in my jaw overnight too as it sometimes aches on waking.

The tensing of the jaw overnight is what leads to tmj, your dentist can do you a shield that you wear to help stop it. It's definitely worth doing as I was in constant agony from it once it gets to a certain point.
