How long will ultrasound for fibroids take

I've got a scan this morning to look for fibroids and check ovaries etc. Anyone know how long it takes? Thanks.

Actual scan is probably about 10 mins. If they do an abdominal scan then a travsvaginal they’ll send you for a wee before the TV.

My last ultrasound included both - I was out in under 20 mins including loo break.

Often they can be delayed though due to emergencies coming in

Thanks. Ooo will they do the vaginal one usually. They didn't mention that. I'm on my period today so wouldn't be ideal

it's ok with period.
take extra pads and some wipes to clean yourself up afterwards.

Yes 20mins max. Will be ok if on period too as if you have fibroids you often bleed for an extended time usually. Sure it will be fine OP.

I'm far too heavy for that. I might have to cancel. I can't think of anything worse 😩

don't cancel - you might have the same issue when you reschedule.
tell them at the beginning of the appointment and discuss how to proceed after the abdominal scan.

Ok thanks. It doesn't say in my letter about having anything done internally that's all.

I had one not so long ago, and honestly the internal is so much easier. Having a full bladder is soooo uncomfortable! She did a scan first with my full bladder then I ran to empty it so she could do the internal. I was also on my period and mentioned it, she said oh just remove your tampon, very un phased. They also have a plastic covering on the bed.
The entire thing took about 15 mins, very relaxed. Mine wasn't for fibroids specifically, but did show I had quite a few.

Thank you so much. Abit nervous but glad you have prepared me
