It's the first time I've used a slow cooker. Making a lentil stew type thing. I don't know if there should be more stock ?

Looks fine, theres usually more liquid than you think in there.
You can cook dry too, I do baked potatoes in ours

It creates a ton of water due to steam so use less than you usually would.

Thank you ! I thought I'd just end up burning it. I got this slow cooker as a gift in 2017 and this is its maiden voyage :)

Oohhh how do you do baked potatoes in the slow cooker @Troels

Old skool slow cooker there 😍. You have to remember not much evaporation takes place as the liquid is mostly condensed back into the pot , plus liquid cooks out of the veggies so if you put as much liquid as a conventional recipe it will be too watery.

Thanks Fannia. I'm starting to think I'll become a slow cooker addict. :)

I wash them, poke them with a fork and wrap each one seperatly in tin foil, place them in the slow cooker and put it on low and leave it all day.

Troels · 29/01/2020 19:56

Oh if I remember I spkinle the wet potato with a bit of salt.

If it's a none slow cooker recipe I half the liquid when I cook it in the slow cooker. You can always add a bit of water, stock etc.
