Child had an allergic reaction. What's the next step?

My child had an allergic reaction today to kiwi. Managed with piriton. Luckily child is able to communicate well and told us the problem.

I'm new to allergies. Do we need to see the doctor and ask for tests? Or do we just avoid the food and keep piriton in?

Please be gentle I'm allergy clueless

How olds the child? Was was the reaction?

I'd want to chat to their dr about it.

Chat to go and get it on record you will need it for school etc to stop them giving it to the child again.

If it wasn't too severe and calmed with Piriton you should be OK, but allergies get worse with every exposure (I have a hyper allergic child) so keep a very close eye.

Highly acidic fruits can trigger all sorts of reactions, dd reacts to citrus and is anaphylactic to pineapple... If you don't mind me asking what did your child say?
